GAIL FREUND ARTIST’S STATEMENT
Being surrounded by the lush Catskills landscape, I observe the distinct seasonal changes in this region. Daydreaming, a slower rural pace, taking walks, and driving around in my car has enriched my creative endeavors. I enjoy using various mediums: Acrylic, India Ink, Papier Mache, Embroidery Thread. I paint on surfaces such as Linen, Paper, Sandpaper, Upcycled ephemera and various Fabric. Embroidery is my meditative activity. I enjoy drawing with a needle and thread.

BIO
Born in Queens NY, and graduated from Parsons School of Design. Worked as an illustrator for national magazines and newspapers. Shifted gears and became the design director for a major NYC based Costume Jewelry Company. Left NYC and moved to Highmount NY full-time in 2016.
